Today is the first official day of the DADbatical! For the next 8 weeks, I will be hanging out with my wonderful new Biscuit, trying not to do more damage than good. After more than a decade of working in higher education, and working in general for nearly the last 20 years, this will be my first elongated vacation. This will be a vacation like no other as I seek to form a bond with my child and provide her every need.

Vacation though may not be the best word choice for my paternity leave. I was even told by co-workers that this will not be a vacation at all and they can’t wait to hear some stories when I return. Luckily for them, I will be posting on here weekly on my journey into Dad-hood!

For today’s journey, we are going to go for a stroll in the middle of the afternoon, simply because we can. This is going to be the best 8-week stretch of my life!
